Has it been and gone? Have I blinked and missed it? Looking at this mornings weather it was forecast to be gusting up to 40mph at the moment, there's hardly a whisper. Maybe it's not noticeable because its southerly. Maybe the forecasters have had the jitters since the notorious Michael Fish forecast. Seriously, has it been exceptionally windy?
Sorry too busy looking through the window to put a title in the right place.

Gusty here. (Tuther side ut Pennines)

Not strong continuous (about 22mph)

But trees are taking a battering, and first thing, a lot of leaves, and even small twigs frozen to windscreen.

Same here, I have been looking forward to this big wind which was supposed to be coming, but it never happened

But it's OK because grimshaw's stood in for it, and grimshaw is full of wind, and he didn't disappoint

Wind has got up a bit but a topsy turvy forecast. Was wanting to clear leaves this afternoon but put it off because of windy forecast, see what tomorrow brings.

I've been wanting to clear t leaves for weeks.

Got a new blower/leaf vac, which I have not yet used.

But alas, the leaves are one wet soggy mass. I know bowt attempting the task that blower is not going to be effective when they are in such a condition.

Priscus I once had a b&q blower /vac and it was a right contraption. You fitted a plastic tube about 2ft long to the bottom of the m/c and took the blower section off and fitted the bag on to the side of the m/c. It would pick wet leafs up no problem and shredded them before they went into the bag. Like you have said most modern m/c will not touch wet leaves

I guess Michael Fish comment the most outstanding blunder, but I am always amazed at the stuff the weather announcers come out with.

Do not know the guy's name, but last October, he actually suggested that putting the clocks back meant the night would be colder because there was an hour more of night! How utterly bizarre is that?

Louise Lear, (Autumn Equinox, 2018) stated it was the point the nights begin to get shorter! Wonder where she had been the previous three months?

At 6-00pm, middle of English Winter, Tomasz Schafernaker said the clouds will be gone and we will all see some sunshine in a couple of hours!

And we have had, "It will be dry apart from where it is raining"!

I sometimes wonder if they are actually competing with each other to see who can get away with saying the silliest thing!
