Where they have done that outside the infirmary is now dangerous with not much thought beforehand, if someone is opening a car door where the on road parking is then vehicles coming up Wigan Lane tend to swerve over the central line, this leaves vehicles heading towards town nowhere to get out of the way with the kerb of the cycle lane narrowing the road.

Are council's getting money from the government to create these cycle paths that are never used by cyclists, I've yet to see a cyclist using them.

I use them quite a bit. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to cycle or walk as much as possible instead of driving.

We come down Ormskirk road regularly and I have never seen a bike on the cycle path.

You won't see some on a bike because they are to fat and lazy.

Billiant stacker lee if only more people took that attitude. We'd all be healthier. Sitting behind a keyboard all day everyday cant help.

Mindar, One of the reasons why I decided to do it is because I have to sit behind a keyboard all day (9-5 anyway) at work. It has made a big difference to the size of my kench!

Tomplum, I most certainly do not wear a lycra suit! I have a pair of cycling shorts complete with perineum cushion but I wear shorts over them. The trouble is they tend to compress my bladder after I stop for a pint, which means I then have to stop at the next pub for the toilet.

Baker Boy, I'll comment how I want, when I want! How do my comments on cycling and using the cycle paths move away from the subject? Oh, by the way I'll eat what I want, when I want!

On about the new Robin Park Cycle Path, I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it has been constructed, because I thought that all of the trees on Robin Park Road were going to be felled, but that is not the case, the cycle and pedestrian paths weave around the trees

Contrast that with the monstrosity of the Wallgate and Ormskirk Road shared cycle/pedestrian scheme, which isn't used, because it just doesn't work and the narrowing of Ormskirk Road, has just made it harder for residents and motorists, to live on and use Ormskirk Road
