Wigan and Leigh WW1 archive

Started by: frazhm (46)

This is an excellent site for pictures of relatives who were missing or killed, I have found three of previously unseen family members: If this link doesn't work, given that this is the first time I have tried to do this, then could someone else put it on correctly - thanks in advance!

Thanks Spacebar, what did I miss out, the example wasn't completely clear. Do I need to add something after the last "]? I want to get it right for future use.

Your first part was spot on. Add a title, as I did, then finish with

Look just below the message box where you type, for an example of how to insert links.

Good luck! I'm waiting for the Wigan Examiner records to be uploaded for WW1, as I discovered last year an article from 1915 about my four uncles fighting!

The Wigan Examiner records are there along with the Observer ones, they are a mix of both so it takes time to look through.

Thanks again for the link help.

some excellent stuff there.
I liked the postcard showing Wigan landmarks.
I wonder if jarvo did the poem to go with it

"A wonderful town is Wigan
And the welcome they'd give
you's a big 'un
For its honest and straight
And its people are great
So tha'd best coom
a visitin' Wigan "

Love it
