George Formby

I have in my possession a large framed photograph of George Formby with Wigan rugby team and the challenge cup from sometime in the 30's i think. Was wondering if anyone knew of anybody who may want to buy it as it is too big for my house.

Ask them at the new shopping centre in Wigan,They are going to have a statue of him in there i bet they would like a photo of him as well.You could be quids in.

hi thanks for your replies, i'm going to post a picture of it just as soon as i get chance. i was thinking of asking the jjb if they would be interseted in displaying it as my dad thinks that Lance Todd is in the picture, maybe someone can help me with who the rugby players are when i put it on here. Also pictured is Mrs Formby and i've been told it was very rare for her to be photographed.

Does anyone know if the photo was put on Wigan World or what happened to it? I don't think I have ever seen GF with a Wigan RL team. Thanks.

Is this the photo mentioned in the opening post though? Looks a lot later than the thirties with players from the 50's and 60's as in Ernie Ashcroft. Thanks for this though Lectriclegs I haven't seen this before either.
