new to wigan world

Hi to anybody out there I have recently joined wigan world as it has amazing stuff on here that I have been able to use in the research of my family tree.

I found out quiet a bit of information on where in wigan my family lived and worked quiet funny as they all lived in the same street and surrounding streets. hope to find out more information when looking on wigan world

Hi to you all yes I am enjoying wigan world I have loved looking at the old photos that people have posted a while ago on the site as I have connections to the streets for eg Great George street and surrounding streets I had relatives living in them areas and my grandfather was born two doors down from the whittle corner shop and his last name was whittle as well

I've found the cemetery lists are good and the street lists of years gone by, old photos too!and a wealth of information from members .

Hi momac do you remember any Kenny's or Davie's I know my nan Mary Davies lived on Lyon street when the 1939 records where taken also Charles Kenny lived at 52 great George street there is family that lived in brown street as well also any Whelan's as well might have moved after 1911 census as I cant find them on the records after 1911.
any information would be grateful off anyone as well

Hello angel 18,Charlie and Raymond Kenny live d just further down from us
on the left hand side going down the street.theres a photo of their house on album somewhere,I'll find it again and let you know where it is.

Thank you that will be great to look at trying to find in my records how old Charles was when he lived in George street and what year it was and to check my on line records as well think he was married to a Mary jane I think will log back on later as on school run thankyou for your help

Angel 18,click on the search box at the top of this page,right under "Forum"
type Jean Middleton into it..you'll see walking day photos,find the one where it mentions Mrs Ramsdales.,the house next door to her was the
Kennys....also if you haven't seen "Wallgate streets and families" which is
on the same page you're in for a treat but be warned..it's a very long
thread. Good luck.

HI to you all just want to say thankyou for showing me where the picture of Charles Kenny was.

I dnt know if anyone could help me with this one I'm looking for any photos of Ellen Kenny married name was Davies she was born in 1898 but sadly died in 1935 aged 37 she was my nans mum and we would love if anyone has any photos or information so I can show my mum as my nan is no longer here
