Been to Pemberton this afternoon and was shocked to see the huge amount of fly tipped rubbish dumped around the car park that is between the shops and St John's church and the graveyard, it's the first time I've been up there in around three years so obviously some folks around there instead of going to Kirkless with their unwanted and worthless garbage since Orrell yard closed have decided that it is okay to use this car park to offload it - disgusting!!!
Since TV programmes such as Call The Council and Dom On The Spot illegal dumpers now know which materials not to include in their rubbish before dumping; so has to avoid being identified.

It's the wrong side of the tracks.
Norley, once a bastion of good folk and memories, is fast becoming the new Scholes. It's sad but true.
There's a new breed walking the streets. And it's a bad un.

Oh dear, another thread gone to pot.
Why can't posters discuss issues instead of sinking into infantile playground backbites - maybe time to have a 'Bake Off' to sort out the Filo from the Choux, hopefully with no soggy bottoms ensuing.
Haven't heard the term 'Soft Melt' in years, remember when you could buy melts for pet food at a butchers, it's offal, and in Wigan was a name particularly for pork spleens, folks would say they were delicious, but I couldn't have them, I'd forego tripe too.

It's my experience that if fly tipping is reported the council remove it the next day. Nothing to do with tip closing just residents acting illegally.

Ena. That rubbish could have come from any number of places. It's within a short drive from, not only Norley but Kitt Green, Orrell, Lamberhead Green, Smethurst Lane area, Halfway house area, Redwood area.
And the residents of Pemberton centre too, besides others.
But one particular poster singles out the residents of Norley and then gets all defensive at the suggestion that the culprits maybe, but not necessarily, closer too home.
Fly tipping has become more prevalent since the closure of local tips and the cut in bin collections. No getting away from that. We now have people advertising rubbish pick ups for those with full bins and some people are taking up these offers. No one knows where these people are dumping the rubbish, so residents of the area may not be guilty of the fly tipping.
Buy hey, why not point the finger at a specific group of people.

jathbee, I made no comment as to where it came from and agree it could be from anywhere.I am pointing the finger at no-one. It's also not factually true that there is more fly tipping since the change in bin collections and I would be interested where you got your evidence for such a sweeping statement.

Ena. I never implied it was you who were pointing a finger. That was Jarvo's charge.
My evidence comes from my own eyes, not any kind of statistics.
I know from the surrounding areas that there is an increase in fly tipping, as the OP has suggested. I also know personally of people paying other people to take away their excess rubbish. Some of these people are not licensed to removed rubbish and therefore who knows where and what they are doing with it, hence the increase in fly tipping. If you care to look on PAD you will find that Mick from the forum here on WW often posts photos of our beauty spots littered by fly tippers, as he does on the forum.
It's rare that Mick and myself agree on much but I would encourage him to provide more evidence of fly tipping when he is on his travels around Wigan.

Thanks BB.
And it's also easy to claim to have seen far more fly-tipping since the change in bin collections. If you see any try reporting it and see how quickly it gets removed rather than moaning about it.

I use my eyes when I'm out and about and I can categorically say there is more fly tipping now than ever before. And I don't make false claims unlike some people do. And I have reported fly tipping too.
But hey, don't let the truth get in the way defending the effects the cuts in bin collection and tips closures have had on the enviroment.

Remember the one where she said that she had categorical evidence that Jarvo wasn't on a train that travelled 60 years ago but she couldn't name her sources?
Laughable and pathetic lies in an attempt to rubbish a fellow poster.
What a pathetic individual she is proving to be, post after post after post.
Give it a rest - everyone knows that you are a proven liar and aren't clever enough to disguise it.

That won't happen ena, "some people" would rather come on here and moan about it, or a person, instead of getting it sorted.

If they start charging for garden waste you'll get people dumping it anywhere and everywhere.

Number 3 C Place in norley all bins on show disgusting & bone idle people live there
Ooh, Mrs Nana, sorry lass, but your comment wasn't well thought out. My bins are on show, all in a row under the front hedge, but they aren't there because I'm disgusting or bone idle, and it doesn't matter where you live. They're there because there's no way I could possibly hide them in my entry as the window cleaner wouldn't be able to gain access, and I can't hump them around the back at my age down a step and then up again as I am now unable to do that.
How thoughtless of you to demoralise and de-value people from a specific area without knowing their age and health circumstances? Is everyone who doesn't hide their bins, disgusting and bone idle? Or is it because some folk don't have a choice? In my case, I don't have a choice.

Well now.
I seem to recall you saying some rather, to say the least, very unkind things about Harry, who Jimmy O used to ridicule.
If I recall rightly, you said he was "A smelly Neanderthal". Not very well thought out was it. And not very compassionate either.

Harry is a total time waster. No doubt about that.
I totally agree with Mollie's comments.
Make the fat slob tidy the litter up in Wiggin town centre where he sits and holds court.
Cut the bugger's benefit if he refuses.

No one was interested in fly-tipping before the council were forced to close refuse depots,it happened just as much as it does now but then was an accepted part of life, not as it is now another hot potato and an excuse to pour scorn and criticism.
However since the depots closed it has become to many a big deal. The sensible and responsible amongst us will always find legal and socially acceptable ways to dispose of our refuse. The more narrow minded and selfish simply won't bother, regardless of how many legal options there are available
Its all about personal responsibility, some have it, some dont. There are plenty of litter bins in the town center but some choose not to use them....same thing!
The fact people fly-tip and in doing so chance prosecution is no more the councils fault than it is Arthur Guinness's fault that people drink and drive.

He sits in bus shelters verbally abusing passers by.
Send him to the Dardanelles...
By the way, I was ten years old when I was on that train.

He is a man with learning difficulties. But you wouldn't care about that would you because you have no empathy with any one you deem to be scroungers. As I said, typical.
As for Mollie's opinion. The cat lover who classed her cats as her children, watched, by her own admission, as her cat died from poisoning rather than take it to a vet and then double bagged it and put it into the wheelie bin. All I can say is I'm glad I wasn't one of her children.
