Honestly they have not a clue.

Given hall's record and her cosy relations with the police, I think if anything, however minuscule, could be planted on fairhurst it would have happened years ago.

The arguement Mrs Prescott had was that the expenses system was flawed and difficult to understand. The system was subsequently changed and she repaid the monies.

So.........on that basis, when can we expect some reciprocation and cooperation from Ex-Cllr Fairhurst?

P.S. I see residents parents and others of a village in Cheshire have saved their primary school from closure, only 22 pupils in the whole school. How different to shevvy where the council and it's cronies, the P.C. & C.A. and its three labour councillors took the residents to the cleaners. just to create some opportunity for their developer mates to build houses.

You want facts Hoss?

Following the enquiry Wigan council changed their procedures and Prescott handed the money back....that's a fact!

Fairhurst continues to tell lies, refuse to provide accounts or even discuss the issue surrounding his Ashfield campaipgn even with the people who donated and who could vote for him, his missus and his old man next time round....that's a fact!

As for this village in Cheshire, did they have other schools within easy travelling distance with excess capacity and were/are they under the same pressures and in the same circumstances as Wigan council?

Is that a Y/N .....or don't know/GAF?

Your cynicism begs the following question, which school would you have closed and why? Or would you defy central Government, not close any, loose vital funding and allow the education budget to go into the red and see kids schooling suffer as a result

Its all so easy when you are sat behind your PC and full of beer eh Hoss?

I also notice Janet Brown is spreading lies regarding the matter in an attempt to gain votes.....AGAIN. No prizes for guessing who is pulling her strings eh?

Wouldn't it be refreshing for once if Fairhurst could actually say something positive about his posse in an attempt to grain votes rather than rely on the perceived failings of his rivals. Remind us again where he came in the race last time he stood for Shevy PC

People of Shevy, be careful what you wish for

She has no car and no driving licence.

So how could she thing, that she could claim petrol/derv expenses.

She got caught and should have been thrown of the council.

Replied: 9th Dec 2017 at 13:33

Posted by: Stardelta (11899)

She was driven to meetings in a car she co-owned and funded FP. At the time this eventually was not catered for in the claims procedure, there was nothing to say it wasn't allowed so she believed it was acceptable.

After the investigation the procedure was changed and she agreed to return the money.

I call it a failing in the system together with a genuine misunderstanding, you call it what you like

BTW.....how much was the amount? I heard, (so please don't quote me) it was around £40

Replied: 9th Dec 2017 at 14:40

Funny how she did not believe it not to be acceptable.

She made sure, she thought it was in her favour.

There was also nothing to say it was allowed.

Replied: 9th Dec 2017 at 14:44

We only know what we have been told, the rest is heresay and rumour FP.

Yes she could have been on the fiddle and yes it could have been a genuine oversight. The only person who actually knows what happened is her. However there was an enquiry which resulted in an outcome that went in her favour

If you want to make a personal opinion it depends if you want to be cynical or take an unbiased and open minded view on it all, not that it matters.

But in saying that, no prizes for guessing your way of thinking eh FP?

Have the council ever had a enquiry that did not go in their favour?

If she was unsure why did she not ask for it to be clarified to her?

She just thought I can get away with this.

I don't know who Mrs. Prescott is and I don't really care. However, looking through the big window, I can see that it probably cost less to pay her the 'fuel expenses', which she wasn't entitled to, as an alternative to 'travel expenses', which she probably was entitled to.
It follows that she might have paid back £354 and received a larger sum in retrospect of the expenses she should have claimed in the first place. With interest at the statutory 8%!

"As for this village in Cheshire, did they have other schools within easy travelling distance with excess capacity and were/are they under the same pressures and in the same circumstances as Wigan council?"
No I don't know. What I do know is this school was saved from being closed when it was under threat using the very same reasons that were used to close shevvy school.

Your council bosses must be proud of you the time you spend on defending them.

Mrs Prescott I'm led to believe voted to pass the Lanfìdgate planning application because ... are you ready for this ..... it would make her journey from Golborne to Wigan much better !
Undeniably a 'material consideration' that is ... for her at least ... what do you mean that's not a correct interpreatation of the rules.
Well it's another clear example that councillors in general have absolutely no idea what they're doing, don't read planning application objections, and have no scruples either.
That's probably why they're openly laughed at nìby council folk - planners and the like.
