Autumn Watch and Winter Watch on the BBC
Started by: veg grower (10740)  Report abuse
Autumn Watch returns on Tuesday 30th October for 4 live episodes (Tues-Fri) just thought I would give it a mention as I think it is worth th Licence Fee alone.

There is also a 4 day Winter Watch in the New Year. I can never understand why they put them on so late in the evening as a lot of children would miss it.

I think it has now established itself as a long term regular to our screens, awesome, sad, beatiful, delightful and funny in each and every episode. I shall make it a date.

Mandibulating...FILTH!

I am watching BBC4's Yellowstone: Unnatural Histories instead.

Mandibulating was over in seconds, as was the Red Deer Rut followed swiftly by the mating.

I love those series BBC4 have done on Yellowstone over the last few years - the four episodes representing the seasons was fantastic. I will have to catch that Unnatural Histories on iPlayer.

It was good (although I had seen it before), It told the tale of the 'red Indians' who lives there before being shunted off, and the ones who remained.

Having moved from Wigan at the end of April to live on the Isle of Lewis i have also been watching the programme.

I must say that the wildlife up here is incredible. We have many different birds of prey flying around the hills outside and we also get to se seals, dolphins and also had a basking shark at the side of our small fishing boat earlier in the year.

Its great nipping into town and seeing the red deer roaming wild on the moors.

Great coverage as always fromm the BBC team.

Grayclose31 - Lucky you on the Isle of Lewis. Springwatch and Autumnwatch often feature Lewis as it plays a huge part in the migration of birds, both to and from the UK.

Last night tonight folks, Unsprung gives an extra half hour show and the Webcams finish at 10.30.

Some farmers still like to poison the eagles and the like in the Hebrides, GC. Saw a few on Skye last Year.

Why would anyone want to destroy any wildilfe i hate the thought of culling or anything like it Mother Nature looks after her own, she did with the Dinosaurs, in her own good time - watched the last show, last night, but, not Unsprung, not keen on that

Unsprung is a tad mental - it isn't structured at all and Martin is useless as lead presenter, saying that I think its funny.

I agree with the points on the eagles and other wildlife.

i do like Martin in a strange way, but, i would love to cut his hair, or put a head band on him
Chris Packam gets on my nerves a bit, he's a Know it All, yes he knows a lot, but !!!

I think their gorgeous - the pair of them.

Martin's hair was a lot longer when he first joined he was always swishing it and propping his glasses up in it. I think he wears contacts now.

Hard to elieve Chris is 51 and Martin 56. Yum Yum.
