Park Hall Night Club, Charnock Richard - ReOPENING

Started by: ebercanezza (5)

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site so am taking this opportunity to say hello and introduce myself, I've spent the last few months just familiarising myself with how everything works and reading all the other topics................so, anyway the main point of this thread is the subject title, the Park Hall Night Club is re-opening weekly (Saturdays) with celebrity guests, the opening night is going to be this coming Boxing Night with a fancy dress theme, was just wondering what people think of the place and if anyone ever went over the years.........will the re-opening be a success???

Hello and welcome to Wiganworld, Ebercanezza.

My brother and sister & friends went there most Saturdays in the mid-nineties. (They took it in turns to drive from the other side of Wigan.) My brother met his wife there.

Hope the re-opening is a success.

Am I giving my age away when I say that the last time I went there it was a fabulous night - Tony Christie was there -- he was just making his name first time around

it was the place to get onto the guest list of mid to late 90's, if you were 16-17 and getting in there then you'd "made it" in the social standings!!!

Welcome ebercanezza, I can remember going there in the 1960's on a Co-op dinner dance it was then a spooky old manor house with a dance hall at the back, I went again in the early seventies and a very large club like room had been built, the Barron Knights were on there that night. It must have been altered a few times as the last time I went it was to an antique fair and I didn't recognise anything from previous visits, is that old hall still in the grounds?

I had my hen party there in 1984, I think it was called Silvers then. I never went again - well, I was an old married woman of 18, too respectable for nightclubs!!

Thank you all again for the further kind welcome's, seems there's many happy memories of the place. Its time though that some ones were created don't you think? It would be great if we could all get the word out that ITS BACK and maybe see some of you there

ayrefield - The Baron Knights?!?!?! I used to love listening to their records when i was a kid! "
Hello Mudder, hello Fadder, life is grand here, in Camp Granada, children laughing, children playing, well they would be if it only would stop raining!"
