The A577 that runs from Wigan through to Hindley, is reportedly the most congested road in Wigan Metropolitan District.
It really is dreadful, especially at school run and time and rush hour.
We prefer to drive miles out of our way over Red Rock to Aspull and down Ladies Lane to Hindley rather than endure the 'stop start tail to tail' misery.
We desperately need a by pass maybe from M61 Junction 5 at Howfen to link with the M6 at Orell.
We should scrap the proposed high speed rail plans and invest the billions it's going to cost in new road infrastructure, what good does it serve to get to London a few minutes sooner.

I would tend to agree with what yoo say and today I have been driving around Garswood and Ashton and the traffic was fairly light

I would suggest getting a bike, bikes are safer when the traffic is slow and the motorists realy hate my wonderfull tune

the cyclist anthem
