Wallet Shield
Started by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
Just bought a wallet shield having read the latest scam !Someone can steal your credit card details when your cards are in your purse.Insert this special card in amongst your cards & no one can gain the details. All M&S wallets now are selling with the shield in place,be safe not sorry !

NJ,I've been using one for months, you can't be too careful.

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse

Nana there are sites which are dedicated to "life hacks" and show all sorts of cheaper ways to do something

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
Seen these before Peter they're always popping up on Facebook

Posted by: basil brush (10301) Report abuse
I'd rather use cash.

Posted by: PeterP (6649) Report abuse
BB don't forget money can be forged

PeterP,
I am sure I read last week that some councils are refusing to accept payment of taxes and fines using either cash or cheque’s. Thin end of the wedge??

'Some people' are just Luddites, Nanajaqui. He probably thinks folding money is better than the evil bank card. He reckons without the rewards for using cards sensibly.
'Some people', eh. 😂😂😂

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
I have to pay by card when I'm buying my products, can hardly send cash down phone linemaybe "some people"don't know how to fill a form in to apply for a card, plus you need to have a good credit score

where would I buy a card shield? and how much?

Posted by: basil brush (10301) Report abuse
Nice to see the sheep 🐑 🐑 following each other around.

Rather use cash then I'm in control and don't get a big bill at the end of the month

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
Kath mine's from Amazon RFID/NFC Blocking Card by ATTENUO £8.99,same size as a Credit Card.I never get a big bill at the end of the month,I pay it in full every day !

Posted by: basil brush (10301) Report abuse
There's nowt worse than letting "some women" loose with a credit card.

Posted by: mindar (886) Report abuse
I just use a debit card Nj. It seems nonsensical carry cash around these days. Did you know that some banks wont let you pay cash into a third persons account. They are trying to clamp down on money laundering

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
Yes mindar I agree carrying cash around is so dated, except for children going for their comics !

Posted by: basil brush (10301) Report abuse
You wouldn't get me paying cash to a third party, anyway and I no what I'm spending with cash

Posted by: basil brush (10301) Report abuse
It's silly not to carry some cash on you.

Posted by: kathpressey (4694)  Report abuse
Thanks nanajacqui for card info although I'm with basil brush really. I do use my card but generally I like cash. i work on a budget and draw out so much a week and in that way I know how my money is going.

You're welcome Kath,glad I could help

Use a card and be data mined.

Stop making life difficult for the demagogues who need to get you to vote against your own self interest!

Totally agree kath 👍

I'm a dinosaur when it comes to tinternet banking , I still like to go in person and have a bank book, so today I was dumbstruck when we gave our daughter a cheque and she took a picture with her mobile phone and used an app to put it into her account there and then without moving from the couch. She has more faith than I have in the modern technical world.

I very rarely have more than ten/fifteen pounds in my purse, always pay for purchases with a card which bumps up my "payback" cash at the end of the year. The only time I do need cash is to pay the window cleaner and the chap who cuts my lawn. Even the milkman is paid by direct debit! As for online banking I have used that for at least twenty years without ever having had a problem. I don't want it any other way now.

Just like myself Anne,I pay cash for paper delivery, hairdresser& not much more, nice to see your points build up & get a bonus & with no effort

Posted by: broady (13775)   Report abuse
We pay everything on CC and settle up at the due date. We have almost enough in points for two flights to the UK next time we travel. We also have enough Air Miles for an internal flight. All for nothing. As they say " be mad not to"

I am apt to think along the lines of being mugged or losing a purse bulging with money. A purse lost with cards is much easier to cope with, cancel them.

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
Some very sensible people on WW Bill & Anne just like myself yeh !

Posted by: jathbee (9119) Report abuse
Used sensibly they have a lot of advantages. No use for 'some people' who can't manage their money though.

Posted by: lectriclegs (3388) Report abuse
Or have know money to manage.

Posted by: nanajacqui (1686)  Report abuse
He said "I now what I'm spending"and edited to "I no what I'm spending".........it's I know for goodness sake

Nobody can trace how much money I've spent, or what I've spent it on!

The foil is the same idea ,as for keyless cars ,put the fob in a coke can in your house the scanners cant detect it to open your car and start it.
