The two Russians
Started by: i-spy (13753)  Report abuse
Someone said they don't look like tourists. But what does a tourist look like
They should have bought kiss me quick hats

I would be embarrassed if that excuse about them being tourists was the best the Russians could come up with. They would have been better to have said nothing. It's akin to saying Hitler only went to Poland in 1939 to do a few decorating jobs.

Same with Hawians, they hate tourist and being part of the us. They want to be their own country.

Uncle Vlad says it is not meant for domestic UK consumption, but to furnish a narrative which our man in Washington can endorse to try to thwart the further sanctions which otherwise will be imposed automatically under House rulings!

So we are led to believe that two Russian secret agents fly to the uk on the same plane carrying a bottle of perfume with a deadly poison inside, then in Salisbury walk under numerous cctv cameras with not a hint of a disguise.Do you really think they would be so incompetent.

What a load of crap about Hawaiians. I have been there three times and find it a lovely, hospitable country. Have you ever been there?

Posted by: chatty (6076)  Report abuse
Not incompetent, just brazen.
Putin is sending a message to "the traitors" they can do that with impunity.
That's been done the way it was to purposely leave a trail and when it's been discovered they've told a ludicrous story which they know that we know is a load of cobblers.
Far from finding those two paraded on telly as comical, it's putting two fingers up and taking the piss which is scary.

I can spot tourists in Plymouth because they always seem to have nice new clothes , especially shorts and sandals. Older tourist ladies walk around in a small group wearing their best cardigans and carrying a nice handbag

Same old cap that the gullible suck up, there's always a
bogey man, Hussein, Gaddafi, Assad.

diston what is so interesting in salisbury to make two russians rush to get there? and they did not stay long! dont you know the best place to hide is in plain sight...

Posted by: Stardelta (6331) Report abuse
There are many ways in which they could have killed the man without raising as much attention. I believe they chose this method as it would be impossible for the authorities to keep it from the public. The response was never meant to be a credible excuse. They are laughing at us, taunting us, showing off and sending out a message.

It makes you wonder what else they are up to within our borders that we the public are not aware of.

Whilst I would not put it past UK spooks to pull off such a stunt, nevertheless, to be able to execute the action just as two Russians, with consecutively numbered passports, happen to be loitering in the particular district of Salisbury, with no apparent purpose, prior to jetting off back to Russia with no luggage...................... simply requires a degree of perspicacity which I think they would be unable to muster in the time available to them.

Posted by: chatty (6076)  Report abuse
The above bogey men were just that 'bogey men' (an excuse for the USA to invade their countries).
This is different no one goes out of their way to pick a fight with Russia.

This narrative has as many holes in it as the 7/7 atrocity.

@PamAyres (Sat 15th Sep):

I went down to Salisbury
To listen to the choir,
A pair of Russian tourists
They were staring up the spire,
Staring up the spire, they were,
Silent and aghast,
Against the sky, hurtling by,
A piggy flying past.

ELIZABETH

NOT JUST RUSSIANS, EVERYONE!

STANDARD CCTV SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS AT AIRPORTS, AND TOWN/CITY CENTRE STREETS. UK HAS MORE OF THEM THAN ANYWHERE ELSE: THOSE THINGS YOU SEE ATOP POLES, OR ATTACHED TO WALLS/BUILDINGS.

ALSO, FOLLOWING A CRIME, COPS/SECURITY SERVICE WILL REQUEST THE CCTV FROM SURROUNDING SHOPS AND BUSINESSES.

(MIND YOU THEY DID NOT CATCH THE JOGGER WHO PUSHED THE WOMAN IN FRONT OF A BUS ON PUTNEY BRIDGE: AN AREA FESTOONED WITH CCTV)

I DO NOT KNOW IF PASSPORT CONTROL ALSO PHOTOGRAPH THE ID PAGE OF INCOMERS PASSPORTS. IT WOULD BE A SENSIBLE THING TO DO.

Just returned from Tesco. It is a twenty minute walk from my home. I counted sixteen surveillance cameras en route. There will be more than that number. I could have missed some. Some of the shops and businesses will have covert cameras.
