Sausages.

Started by: Joseph77 (inactive)

What's up with them lately? Can't seem to find any good ones, Butchers ones are full of fat and no flavour, Supermarket ones taste like and feel like paste. Will I have to stick to Linda McCartney's (which I do like) for the rest of my life?

Any suggestions as to what and where to get good ones? Walls sausages are out of the question by the way, horrible!

No filthy comments please, we don't want to upset some people.

Not been to Hibberts for a while, I remember they used to have small, home made stir-fry bags ready made but frozen, I think the entrance was a bit narrow.

I can endorse Spud1's post at 15-28, Hibbert's butchers in Church St Westhoughton do first class sausages, and do different varieties too, like Old English, Cumberland and spicy Spanish.

Chadwick's in Standish do a decent sausage, as do Englands in Pem.

I got some Richmonds skinless for the time being, they were OK but not what I wanted really. Thanks for the suggestions though they will be kept in mind.

If you have or anybody you know has a Costco account try the sausages from a family run company in the chiller section, can't think of the name but on the front is a picture of the family in catering white coats and hats. They are great

Baker boy..to me they taste very much like I suppose a sausage is
supposed to taste..although it's that long since I had a real one (no thank
you not for me )..I don't eat any meat at all..just my choice..but I don't grill
them, fry them in the least amount of oil as you can..throw a few onions in
with them..and they're delicious .

Been to Costco today and called into Ashton on the way back, got some sausinges from Mark Williams and two pork pies. Will be trying the sausinges tomorrow, the pies sadly didn't make it home.
