Family

Started by: britboy (6794)

Mrs britboy and I are traveling south tomorrow for a few days to support our greater family. Two of her brothers boys are in hospital, one in ICU fighting for his life with liver failure and the other is in a different hospital with very poor leg circulation and had to have two toes removed because of infection.
It will be well worth the visit if only to give her brother and his wife a little restbite from practically living at the hospital for the last two weeks.

I'm sure your extended family will really appreciate your support.

All the best and take care.

Thankyou jazzy...I may have confused a few with my post, it's her nephews that are having health problems ( her brothers boys), the one with liver failure is only 37 and the other in his late 40's...far to young to be having this sort of thing happening to them

No problem...we would liked it to have been a 1200 mile round trip of a more social and pleasent nature but life doesn't alway work that way, we are taking valuable time out of our lives because it must be done...family.

Just got a call from the sign maker, our new art gallery sign goes up on the building on Wednesday and we won't be there to see it

Such is life

I agree britboy, family must come first.

Ask your sign maker to take a piccy, and email it to you, not as good as being there, but you will be able to see it.

Then you can post it on here then we can see it

So sorry to hear that britboy.. Good for you to be going, if only for support... I have been going through 'stuff' since January, hopefully by July, I will hear the 'All Clear', Having family and friends for support is everything.. I know your family will appreciate what you are doing... and although you will be missing special events in your own life.. I am sure you will feel better going, than not. Prayers and Best Wishes to All concerned. Safe journey for you and Mrs B..

Thankyou jouell, hope all goes well with you...most things that seem important pale into insignificance when it comes to family.

Challenges have to be met head on and delt with as effectively as possible, I've always been a solutions person but family are very special and a kid glove approach is often essential

After all I'm not dealing with machinery and control systems

My niece presented a new addition to our greater family yesterday, a little girl, a little premature but mother and baby are doing well

Amidst the desperate situation that my wife's nephew is in (just visiting at the hospital now) better news is always welcome which lightens the situation .

Well...managed 30 miles this time before breakfast, just 430 miles to go .

Traveling home today, Mrs britboys nephew still desperately ill, family visit was good as we hadn't see them for some time.
Better circumstances would have been welcome but can only play the cards delt.
Hoping for happier days for my adopted family.

Such a sad state of affairs

Mrs britboys nephew lost his fight for life in the hospital ICU last week at the far to young age of 38.

He leaves behind a wife, two young children and another on the way

We are traveling south again to attend a wake today and funeral tomorrow.

So young

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's the one thing that all parents fear. I saw my Mum suffer this when we lost my brother at 23.

I cannot believe that my wife's family could suffer more personal devastation than the recent loss of a nephew at 38 years old.
Now the other nephew of a similar age with the foot infection is in hospital again, he is having his leg amputated!!

These are four sons of her brother, lost one at 38, whatever next???

So sorry britboy..

There is no rhyme or reason as to what happens to certain people / families.....
Some people go through life merrily merrily, whilst others suffer through one thing after another...

Thoughts and Prayers for the young man and his family...
