Just proves what the Glazers will do for money.

So.
What exactly have the Glazers done .?

Haven't they made anything from the sale of shares to Ratcliffe then? And are they still the owners?

Well all what has been said is that "the rat " has bought 25% of which a large part will be doled out to the glazers and other shareholders with a relatively small amount for O T improvements .
Perhaps you know more .

All i need to know is that the Glazers will make a lot of money by allowing Ratcliffe to buy 25% of shares with the proviso that he gets full control of the day to day running of the club. So why would they accept that deal if it wasn't purely for the money? Do you think they have done it for the benefit of the club?

Not in the slightest have they done it to benefit the club i m o .
I posed the question out of curiosity given i could have missed something .
I hope" the rat " does sort things out for the betterment of the club .Given his reputation he is not one to be messed with so us utd fans live in hope .

Don't see how he can sort things out without spending God knows how many hundreds of millions of his own money on refurbishing the stadium and rebuilding the team because the Glazers certainly have no intentions of doing so and i can't see him doing that, can you?

Only time will tell how things will change but change they will .
I am certain of that given his alleged ruthless reputation of being able to spot a bluffer a mile away
and from the evidence of the past few years the club has had its fair share of bluffers .
As a for instance i understand he wasnt impressed at the way the Greenwood affair was handled .
The top top international striker now plying his trade at Getafe and attracting rave reviews from the Spanish media and full attention from the likes of Barca and Bayern .
So he will more than likely re - structure the management of the playing side from top to bottom although i reiterate it will take time .

It will take more money also

Sure will .
And the money the club generates is spent on the club and the utd type of player .
Good to exchange posts without any name calling etc etc ..

Brilliant news, and Jim Ratcliffe has control of the day to day running of the club, so first thing he should doo, is to sack Erik Ten Hag LINK

I think Ratcliffe may seal his fate. And on balance i think it will be right for Ten Hag to go...... But he will leave with a very full wallet

there,s no "tail wagging the dog" here . it,s a 1.5 billion gift but with £250 million going to the upkeep of the stadium . i cant see ratcliffe winning any boardroom desision & the glazers certainly wont put their hand in their pockets .

Is anyone apart from the deluded utd fans think this is going to improve things... they should have backed the Arabs who would have bought them out of the sh-t.

the arab worked out the glazers & told them point blank that his offer was final & the next thing the glazers put the club on sale for 10billion . i,m certainly not deluded & cant see where ratcliffe is going to win anything in the boardroom . the glazers will be laughing all the way to the bank & the club STILL has,nt paid off their loan of 535 million to the banks .

Ratcliffe doesn't need to win any boardroom decisions, he already has total control over football matters, that was part of the deal otherwise he wouldn't have bought in.

you think ? . i,ve yet to be convinced especialy when he has to spend his own money without the glazers putting their hand in their pockets . wot about the loan they passed over to the club ? . 18yrs & hardly anything coming off that debt ? .

Who says he has to spend his own money? Ratcliffe is a very very very shrewd cookie, I'm pretty certain he will have had things already in place to suit whatever plans he has well before he did the deal. We will just have to wait and see.

After yesterday, it would appear that a 25% minority shareholding will not be enough to restore United to its rightful place.

For someone who has "coached footballers to the highest possible standard" I take it that was just a cheap dig and not you showing us the true extent of your footballing knowledge Todg?

Chatty

Only stating the obvious and I have never said that I coached at the highest standard, only youth teams which I suspect is more than you have ever done in any actual playing or coaching of a sport other than watching it.

Unless of course, you can prove otherwise

I do believe you posted that you had "coached players to the highest professional standard" and I think other contributors on here will confirm that

Has for my own career I have actually played as many professional games of football as Gerard Houllier so should be allowed an opinion but with you obviously thinking yours is more valid because of your "vocation" in the sport just explain what you was expecting so startling differently in the first game after a new part owner coming into the club and it not even being ratified for another 8 weeks??
