Err......they got a letter of resignation from Jones and it was confirmed verbally in a meeting, he also informed his constituents via social media. He then backtraked and rescinded his notice. The council refused to accept as they believed it was both unfair and undemocratic. The issue centered on if councillors are subject to the same laws as employees, not if letters were/were not sent or received.
It begs the question if they are, why can't they be sacked for misconduct like employees can. The verdict sets a very interesting precedent.
I really am struggling to understand why people seem incapable of understanding exactly what went on.
