NICHOLSON, Jane Ethel - 1901+

Posted by: LITTLER

Notes / message: I'm looking for information on Ellen LITTLER - possibly also known as Ellen Ann LITTLER.

I have the birth cert. of my great-grandma, Jane Ethel NICHOLSON. Her father is given as William NICHOLSON and her mother is given as Ellen LITTLER.

I don't currently know anything else about William NICHOLSON or Ellen LITTLER but think they may have possibly got married in the Wigan registration district in 1881.

Their daughter Jane Ethel was born 08/02/1901 at 12 Edge Green Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield so I was thinking this is possibly where William & Ellen are from and where they got married.

Jane Ethel NICHOLSON went onto marry Henry PARKINSON on 07/07/1919 when Jane Ethel was 19 and Henry was 35. At the time of the marriage both the bride & groom were living at 12 Golborne Road, Lowton.

Jane Ethel and Henry are the parents of my paternal grandfather, James PARKINSON. James was born 05/01/1924 in Lowton.

Any information on the people mentioned would be wonderful as I have next to nothing at the moment - just what I've gleaned from a couple of birth & marriage certificates. Many thanks.

P.S. I've tried to contact Alan Littler from the Littler surname he posted on Wigan World but his e-mail address doesn't seem to be working. Alan, if you're out there please e-mail me. Cheers.
