After 14 weeks basic training square bashing rifle and small arms and signaling training the final passing out parade. I am the last one on the right. you can see the differance the training made. This is not the same troop that was in Oswestry.

Hi. Vince,
I entered National Service at Oswestery in July 1956 (intake 5614)we spent two weeks there learning the basics, at the end of our stay we were told what trade we would be doing and where we were going, like your dad I went to Kinmel Park to be trained as a signaller, it was a 14 week course, besides learning about radio and telephone communation, we also did the basic training, Drill, small arms, and other related army training, others went on to be drivers, radar operators et. the length of training depended on what job your were being trained for, I was there until the middle of Norvember, then we were given our postings, I went to Germany on the 6th of December, so was there at the same time as your Dad
If you want any more info my email is jr1970@live.co.uk
