This Foden loaded with bran by John Walker and second man Derek Cunliffe was bought new by James Eckersley in the 1950's. Colin Banks,of R. Banks and Sons of Standish bought James Eckersley's business in 1960,hence the name change. We had three flat wagons operating from the garage in Park Road, Hindley, where the photo' was taken in 1963. Derek is on photo'. Reg' of truck was 581 LTJ.

It is 54 years today since this truck went on the road .We
went to Tate +Lyles at Liverpool and picked a load of sugar
up for delivery in Manchester on 02/01/60,The wagon had
1000/20 tyres on all wheels they were Goodyear traction
Mileage they did 130,000 miles before they were replaced
I often wonder where this truck ended up I would love to
Know D.C.
