This photo was taken by my late father, in the backs off Westminster Street just before we all set off for the May Queen walkabout. This is a fabulous reminder of what childhood and friendship is all about. I can name them all but one - sorry,do you know this lad? From left to right Tony Ashurst, Paul & Jeffrey Lea, Nadine Kellie, unknown, Dorothy Kay, Wendy Divney & Sheila Whalley. Happy Days !!!!

I can confirm I was the missing name. We lived in Arundel Street at the time. Very nice cap. Just to correct slightly, the brothers were Paul and Geoffrey Lees. I can just remember this. Different world!

A lovely memory of life as a child in the 60's! I can still remember my friend Nadine's reluctance to take up the post of 'May Queen'. Tony Ashurst, far left, was dressed as a 'pit man'. Paul Lee on his right, was the 'bin man', Paul's brother, Geoff, head visible at the back of Paul, was 'Jet Man' whoever that was, not sure!? Also, as mentioned above, others in the picture include Dorothy Kay, Wendy Divney, from Southport, who came as 'herself' (used to stay with her gran in Westminster St), Phillip Rollins (I think) and me, the 'nurse', on the front right! Those 'backs' were the venue of many events at that time, one being the annual bonfire!

Sheila.....you might remember me, I think we were in the same class at St Marks. We lived opposite you (other side of Backs)....i.e. we were on Arundel Street. I remember you dad (Walter?).
