I enjoyed performing with St John's in the 1950's. Is there anyone put there who can remember me? I would love to hear from you.

Hi Margaret. I'm sure I do remember you. The chap "kneeling" on the front row is actually "sitting", and I'm sure it is Gordon Tyler. I did a few shows with St Johns, (eg Merry Widow) and remember Teresa Barlow quite well. I played mainly with Hindley Operatic (G. and S., Carmen etc) and then with Wigan Operatic, playing Emile de Beque in South Pacific with Ann Chisholm. Is there anyone else around we might mutually know ??

Hello Cyril.
I remember going to the Ritz Cinema in 1961 to watch a performance of 'The New Moon' by Wigan Amateurs. You took the part of Robert. My father Joe Cunningham was Viscomte Ribaud and my cousin Pat Touhey played the part of Marianne. The Wigan amateur operatic scene was very active in those days and as children, my two brthers, my sister and myself watched many of the shows with delight.

I well remember Ann Chisholm in performances in the later 50's on the stage at the Ritz.
What happened to Ann in later years does anybody have any information.
She was also at Wigan Tech' when I also was there.

Hi I am Ann Chisholms Eldest daughter, my own daughter came across this post whilst looking for photos of my Mum. She moved 'Down South' in the late 60's and spent her final years in Essex and Suffolk. Sadly she passed away just three weeks ago 24th February 2022 aged 84. Unfortunately she had Alzheimers for a number of years. The last memories of hers to go were all the shows and songs. It gave her great joy. Hope someone sees this and is able to pass it on.
