Does anyone know which building was the 'Theatre Royal' Could it have been the SHAKESPEARE?

1893, No radio, No TV, no internet, no smart phones, no social media It is impossible to imagine how these poor souls survived! But they did,and quite happily so, funny thing that, isn't it?

No cars, radio, washing machines, fridges, hoovers and not even electricity in most case. No wonder the advert states good brushes for scrubbing and sweeping the dirt away! Those poor housewives had their work cut out! The house I lived in had no electricity until 1956 -just gas mantles downstairs and candles to light the way to bed. What they never had they didn't miss I suppose.

Just found this info on another photograph on the site.

The Shakespeare Hotel was originally the Theatre Royal closed as a theatre when the Hippodrome was built in 1904.The Theatre Royal opened in 1850 behind a private house owned by a Mr Morris, this was demolished when the theatre was remodeled by Mr H J Worswick in 1890.In 1904 what was once the facade of the theatre was retained as the front of The Shakespeare Hotel.
