Hi RosieG, before the problem with Wigan World last week you posted a comment below the above photo saying that you had relatives in Thirlmere Avenue named Bennett.... was one of them called Cyril and another called Tony, many thanks

Hello Eileen, I remember large foxgloves peeping over the fence, it looked magical even from the other side. I used to have relatives (also named Bennett) from Thirlmere Avenue, and used to go down Factory Fold to get there. It always looked so rural there.

What a beautifull little girl and just look at those curls.

The photo on the right reminds me of those of the Cottingley Fairies, which were taken by two little girls in the 1920sand which were believed for many years to be real.

Thanks Linda! The little girl was me although it was about 66 years ago!! The memory is quite vivid, and very precious

Rosie, I refer to the comment I made previously regarding the Bennett brothers because Cyril married a friend of mine at the time (47 years ago)

Comment by: Rosie G on 20th October 2016 at 09:07

Yes Eileen, he did get married in May 1969, I remember because I had to work that morning and missed it. He married Kathy, but I can't remember her last name.

Hi Rosie,
Cyril married Kath Nash, I worked with her for many years,we still exchange Christmas cards but haven't seen her in years, hope they are well

Comment by: Rosie G on 23rd October 2016 at 18:58

Hello Eileen,
I had forgotten what Kathy's name was before she got married. I trust the family are all ok, we kind of lost touch. Sadly, my Uncle Cyril died Christmas 1971, my Auntie Pat remarried a few years later and moved to Hindley Green. I did go to see her a few years ago with another cousin(also named Cyril.)I used to live on Manchester Road, opposite the Wagon Works.

Hello Rosie, where exactly did you live on Manchester Road, and may I ask how long ago, I'm just wondering if I knew you, I went to Ince Central school, I left in 1956 and went to Hindley and Abram Grammar xx
