Cindy posted a photo of a Grand Hotel menu, well this is ours from Nov 1968. The meal was basically a ham salad but there was a free bar all night, the bill for that was about £50!

I had my twentieth birthday there! Twenty of us must have supped the place dry and then on to one of the clubs! Always classy and a bit pricier but it was nice to drink with Wigan's gliteratti!

In the early 60's you could only buy half pints in there.

My sister,s wedding reception was held there I remember being asked what I wished to drink .i had a britvic pineapple with big square ice cubes I had never had a drink with cubes .1965.

It was a lovely Hotel when I had my wedding there on 23rd April 1962 .It is a shame the state it is in now .

I had my wedding reception there 25.10.61, it was excellent the best hotel in Wigan at the time.
