HMS Glorious was sank by the Sharnhorst on it's way to Scarpa Flo. 1207 men lost their lives 43 survived. The Germans did not pick up any of the 900 men who abandoned ship.
A cousin of my dad's went down with her, too. He was a stoker - so wouldn't have had a chance.
