Colin; It`s earlier than 1950 because of the rigid front forks. Possibly a 1939-45 650cc twin.

It has suspension Ernest, see the coil spring just behind the headlight. It's called a cradle frame suspension. But you're right about the year, pre-war.

I think this is a pre war speed twin, note the girder front forks. Post war had telescopic forks.

It's a late '30's 500cc Triumph Speed Twin. They were reintroduced after the war with telescopic forks and a rear sprung hub. These early ones are the most desirable now..
