The Fairhurst`s had a shop on the Corner of Frog Lane and Diggle St. I`m not sure if it was a grocer`s. I was 7 yrs.old when we moved from Diggle St.

"Nov.9th 1939. - Mayor Choosing in Wigan: Councillor A. C. Fairhurst, J.P. (Cons.), elected 693rd Mayor of Wigan; Councillor A. J. Lowe (Cons.) appointed Deputy Mayor.
