My 1965 Triumph Herald, a cracking little car if you didn't take the small turning too seriously.

Sorry should read turning circle.

A very easy car to work on, the bonnet and wings lift up together from the windscreen to the front. A great turning circle from left to right, I think the last Herald in production was 1971-J reg and as Harry says a cracking car in its day.

Indeed a great car, but chassis outriggers were prone to rust. We had a 1966 D reg 1250 (fabric sun roof) in green with red upholstery. The negative camber caused by the independant suspension didn't half go through tyres, particularly the front. I always wanted the 2 litre Vitesse with the sloping twin headlights but never managed it. Did have a 1854cc (Saab engine if I remember correctly) Triumph Dolomite in Pimento Red. That was a great car too Got a photo of both and will upload.

I had a two year old Triumph Herald in 1969 with about 34,000 on the clock, a de-coke was needed and by using a Practical Motorist magazine with its step by step instructions I managed it with excellent results, despite my previous "knowledge" of only knowing where the petrol went - as you say they were easy to work on.

my first car in 1981 was a 1968 13/60 herald it was a great car, never let me down, replaced it with a 1974 1.6 avenger which wasnt as good especially body wise, headgasket problems too.
