dk are you sure it was a capri and not a crapi?
I mentioned the Capri on the Anglia photo. I actually meant the early sixties model which was a coupe version of the Anglia. I've had later Capris though, mine were OK.
My comments are a bit tongue in cheek. It would have helped had I done the jobs when they needed doing ie. before it broke. I didn't know that about the Anglia.
The Ford Capri was sold with the slogan "the car you've always promised yourself"
Is that Derek Killen? If it is, hope you are well matey.
Hello John. I'm fairly splendid. Hope you are awreet too. Have you still got those two picking rods, we called them quivers, you got from Ken the boxer, can't remember his other name now. Made by Tommy Blackledge. Collector's items. Happy times. Keep well.
The Capri was a derivative of the Consul Classic not the Anglia
Derek,
I think i either sold them to Billy Collier or gave them to an old mate back in 1981. They were quiver tips made at Tommy Blackledges shop in the Weind by Harry who worked for Tommy.Harry was bloody good at making rods.
We aren't supposed to have conversations on here John, we will get a detention. Good to hear from you and, at least, they went a good home - not much chance of Bill catching one big enough to break the rod! Not seen him since Gullick's days either. Tight lines.!
Not seen him either, wouldn't recognise him i reckon. I do believe he works for Wigan Athletic.Take care Derek and have a good Christmas matey.
Often referred to as 'the poor man's sports car, though 'snazzy' all the same!
At the bitter end - after all of the above little jobs - I was getting ten miles to a gallon. Poor boy blues.
cars in the seventies were so reliable...........not!
Derek Killen. Trying to track you down. I went to school with you at Hindley and we are organising a reunion in April 2014. Can you get in touch
