This painting was the first to get Isherwood any fame even though it was ridiculed, How anyone can call this the work of a genius has me flummoxed. I have hung better paintings done by my children in infant school on the fridge door, this would be consigned to the toilet with all the other crap

I remember that -"Mary Whitehose with five Tits" I think he called it. Isherwood has an eye for the absurd...its one of his better works;I tired of his Wigan/Mining art long ago.

I prefer the paintings by Theodore Major,Ron.I remember watching a TV documentary on him many years ago...a real Northern character.

Don't knock it how many of us has got paintings like this from our kids, his mother was brave and displayed them hahaha, wish I had done the same, I have one on my wall in beautiful frame just red splodges which my niece did was her 1st school painting I call it "Sunrise over St. Judes" by Kathy Wilding x

Trewyth, I dont think he was completey nude when He painted Dusty Springfield. He kept his socks on....... so he would have somewhere to put the brushes

Perhaps he gave Dusty five breasts. Wasted with Dusty's sexual preferences!
