Highfield Girl Guides, Billinge Rd Pemberton.
Given by Mrs Ellen Mathews(Nee Rollins), known locally as Nellie Rollins.
Circa 1926 in Pemberton Rd Highfield near to St Mathews Church.
The photo has been lent me for submission by Mrs Ellen Mathews, (nee Rollins) seen in the photo,she is to the left of the woman holding the flag at the front, She is now 96 years old and was 13 years old when the photo was taken. She was in “heather” patrol
Her Sister Alice is believed at the front left on the photo.
At the time the head guide was Miss Woods the daughter of reverend woods, Vicar of the Church at the time.
Second in command was a Miss Green. She tells me Hannah Wilson (Now Ashcroft) is also on the photo.

I wonder if it is the same Hannah (Anna) Ashcroft that I know. She is in her nineties and I went to see her recently.
She was a friend of my mum's family and is till a friend to this day.

Yes. that is my friend, Anna. She lives with her son. A little girl at the front looks like her. I am delighted to see this photo, Dave. Thank you so much. I must get in touch with Anna.
