The car is an A40 Cambridge or Devon, I think (1950's)

As well as Chamberlains on Standishgate, a couple o'doors away was Billy Kearns, who I used to deal with, until he died, then his wife carried on with the shop

My boss sometimes used to send me down here to get some tailoring alterations done by a lday that lived there he always said " hurry up back and dont call at number 22" I never knew why.

My old boss lived in this street roundabout where the car is parked on the left.He was the owner of DH&N Tyldesley,s Plumbers&Heating Engineers at the top of Greenough street.

In the 40's, there was a vets in Wigan Lane near Springfield St, called Blackies. When we took our dog there with a broken leg, it caused some amusement..
The dogs name was...Blackie ;o)
