The car is an A40 Cambridge or Devon, I think (1950's)
Art Timberlakes add shows the next A40/50.
My first car.
Nothing to do with cars, but wasn't Upper Dicconson a nice looking street back then? Doesn't look anything like that now... :(
Hi
What was the music shop round the corner from Mesnes Street called ? Anyone remember please?
The Music Shop Was Chamberlain's Who Later Moved Next To The Griffin Pub What Is Now A Computer Shop
Tricia do you mean Chamberlains on Standishgate?
As well as Chamberlains on Standishgate, a couple o'doors away was Billy Kearns, who I used to deal with, until he died, then his wife carried on with the shop
My boss sometimes used to send me down here to get some tailoring alterations done by a lday that lived there he always said " hurry up back and dont call at number 22" I never knew why.
My old boss lived in this street roundabout where the car is parked on the left.He was the owner of DH&N Tyldesley,s Plumbers&Heating Engineers at the top of Greenough street.
Wasn't there a vets on the right hand side - mr Blackie?
In the 40's, there was a vets in Wigan Lane near Springfield St, called Blackies. When we took our dog there with a broken leg, it caused some amusement..
The dogs name was...Blackie ;o)
