This is a stained glass window depicting the old Wigan Coat of Arms. It was found in Sunderland. Does anyone know where it originally came from?

THERES A IDENTICAL WINDOW IN WIGAN INFIRMARY ON THE 2ND FLOOR PASSAGE NEAR THE MAIN ENTRANCE

Thanks Skippy, I'm not sure where you mean, I haven't been there for a while, but is it in the old part?

Cathy yes it is in the old part if you go round the back of the hospital to the side of the new but unused phisio dept if you look at the old part in front of you the crest is on 2nd floor window. or if you enter hospital from side entrance from new car park the window is end of passage near lifts to wards

Thanks for that Skippy.
I'll go and have a look.
This one is about 2 foot x 18 inches and has a silvered back giving a mirrored effect. It's peeling off a bit. Dunn's menswear shops used to have town's coats of arms in their top windows and we wondered if this was one from the Sunderland shop. They have all gone now I think. There used to be a Dunn's at the top of Wallgate.

Dunns shop was in between the cafe and the moon under the water and think you are right about the coat of arms
