This photo also featured in Past Forward Iss 41 - http://www.wlct.org/Culture/Heritage/pf41.pdf Issue 43 had a readers letter detailing the men and in particular Jack Fulton: "Dear Editor My sister and I were interested to see the photos of air raid wardens in issue 41 and spotted our late dad, Jack Fulton, standing on the right in the New Springs ARP group. We recognise some of his colleagues as Mr Telford, Mr Rutter, Mr Collier, Mr Lloyd and Mr Baker. All of these gentleman are, sadly, no longer with us. Their photo was taken at the New Springs ARP post at the old Coal Board Offices (known locally as “Top Place”) at the top of Cale Lane. The buildings are now part of Kirkless Industrial Estate. Clarice Bithell & Alma Hampson New Springs"
Jack Fulton was the brother of my Great Grandfather Albert Edward Fulton, cheers Ian Hanna

I too immediately recognised Mr. Fulton. A kindly and avuncular man as I remember. My Grandparents Alice and Tom Houghton of 121, Cale Lane, were good friends with Mr. and Mrs. Fulton. Annie Tattum (nee Houghton), my mother was good friends with Clarice and Alma, indeeed she was a bridesmad at Alma's wedding c1950
