During the War, I sometimes cycled to Southport and being an aviation enthusiast, I always stopped to watch the Fleet Air Arm aircraft practising here. In case you don't know, RNAS means, Royal Naval Air Station, like all of these they had birds names, Burscough was HMS Ringtail..E.T.

You are right about the air stations having birds for names. I was based at HMS Heron which is at Yeovilton in Somerset
