We recently found this picture of my father-in-law John (Jack) Bolton in the Home Guard. He's the fourth from the left.
He was employed at Blundells as a colliery carpenter and shaftsman.
We believe that the photo was taken in Blundell's Foundry Yard which was down Foundry Lane, Highfield, but would like to hear from anyone who knows better!

Didnt Jack work at Parkside at one time as a joiner and shaftsman. I seem to recall Jack when I was at Parkside and he came from Poolstock. This would have been in the early 60s
Yes Fred, my dad worked at Parkside from it's opening until he retired in 1971.
He had previously worked at Blundells, Garswood Hall, Dairy Pit, back to Garswood Hall and then Stones'.
