I remember Keith and his 1st wife, Jean. Together they ran Wigan Folk Club above the Market Hotel on the market square. The landlord was Mr Brown and his glamorous wife (although I don't think they were married!). Keith wrote and published many broadsheets. Other singers at the club included Fred Baynham, Jim (who sang in the style of Bob Dylan), Bruce Stevenson, Charlie Mentieth. Can anyone remember others?

Hi Babs,
If you remember Wigan Folk Club at that time was at the Park Hotel.
It must have been the summer of 1964.
Here are some names - Dave Hurst, Barry Halpin from St. Helens, John Wood and Kevin Duffy. John (Bolton) and I were there too!
Nice to hear from you.
Cathy

Joe was not the step son of Jack Wooset
He was his first born son and was born in BrynHall

My mother told me that owed Jack Woosey was the surface manager
At Landgate Colliery
And that Joe refered to in the song was his son not stepson.
It seams that owed Jacks granddaughter lives near by the colliery.
