I took this photo' in the 1950s at a motor bike trial starting from a pub car park at Newburgh, Geoff Duke also took part. Les was on a Matchless. E.T.

At one time Eric I use to see these scramblers coming up Gathurst lane.
They used to start of in Appley Bridge and go through the woods and fields and come out of the Dean Wood footpath.
Then up the lane and back down to Appley Bridge to start another lap
