Apologies for the quality but an historic first action shot, age 13, with my first camera! (One step up from a Brownie 127, just point and click!) The "Shevi" end is all grass and no spectators. The supporting player is identifiable but who scored the goal?

i remember them old square posts I see jimmy prescott, not sure about the scorer the only blond haired players i can think of at that time was roy smith dosent look like him or a lad named nugent. i will have to have another think.

Yes, it's Roy Smith with Jimmy Prescott following up. Sad to report but if I remember correctly Roy was killed a few years later in a tragic pit accident.

Yes, it is Jimmy Prescott. I should know hes my Grandad. Sadly he passed away on Valentines Day 2011. He is buried at Lowton St.Marys Church if you wish to see the grave.
