Springfield Borough rugby league team playing at Springfield Park in the mid 1980's. It wasn't a all ticket match !

Why wasn't this huge sprawling stadium developed?
Instead, Whelan gave the people of Wigan the souless, cracking, peeling JJB...
And Springfield got more houses, with Jeeps parked on cobbled drives...
What a tragedy...
There is a picture knocking about with the plans to develop Springfield Park. Would be nice to see it again.
