Cutting from the Evening Post 1955. showing Wigan's Olympic cyclist Alan Danson at the North West Station on his way to Australia for the Olympic. Does anyone know if he still lived in Wigan when he came home and got married?

So much Wigan talent. Facilities for sport, in those days, were sparse, compared to today's amenities. I remember the rugby field, at the school that I attended, in the forties. The playing surface was solid clay. No grass whatsoever.
