Uncle Joe was Also my Grandfather bro. Just found this picture of him. Another Great man from Wigan.
Joseph Daley is my second great grandfather. My grandmother and his granddaughter, Therese (Jordan) Bruhns, passed recently and I'm going back through the genealogical records and trying to collect family photos- please pass on any information you have!
Joe Daley was either the brother or half-brother of my great-grandfather John Daley (the details of John's paternity are a bit uncertain). He was the uncle (or half-uncle) of my granddad John (Jack) Daley who was a successful boxer in the 1930s and 1940s.
I’m enjoying reading the comments. Our father is John Daley, son of James and Annie (nee McKnight)Daley. Joe Daley is our great uncle. The story goes that James Daley did join Joe in America but returned as Annie wanted to stay in Wigan. Frank Daley was my fathers brother and my uncle. I’m sitting around a table in New Zealand with John (Jack) Daley who will be celebrating his 93rd birthday on the 02nd of May.
Hi Clare , your grandad James went to work in Canada in August 1923 . I don’t know of meeting up with Joe in USA.
