So sad to see this. The mighty Orrell ruined by the sharks of rugby league...How sad to walk past the hallowed ground and to see a Wigan Rugby training base there. I wonder what Jack Carrington thinks about all this...NO way back...Sad...

Rugby League didn't ruin Orrell,the professonalisation of Rugby Union did.

I played there for a short time and I watch Wigan Rugby League, It wasn't the sport of Rugby League, its players or fans that ruined the long tradition of Orrell, it was the two money grabbing, asset stripping Owners/Directors of Wigan RLC lining their own pockets in the process. Exactly the same way that one of them has ruined the Mesnes playing field in the Town Centre. It won't be long before its turned into a supermarket. Philanthopists my anus !!!!!
