This photograph was taken in the early 50's at the Woodhouse Lane track. I am the child getting the autograph. Although I was only about 4 years old I can still remember the assortment of strong smells, and the exciting atmosphere.

another superb photo christine ! i remember the speedway track with it's atmosphere and unique smells, and also the riders used to give us kids their goggles when they had finished with them, wonderful memories !

Yes, those goggles nearly covered the whole of my face, and the smell of rubber inside them was overpowering. Happy days.
