Sat behind the shield and between the two cups in the middle of the sat down row I would think is Peter Turner, golng off earlier photo's with him on.
No 'Boardy's lad' - I think Derek had already retired!
my dad arthur is on the far right middle row i think all the players received a 9ct gold medal for winning the daily dispatch shield
It is Peter Turner, and he thinks top row 3rd from the left is Jimmy Bridge, top row 3rd from right is ? Gaskell.Middle row 2nd from left is Tommy Ollerton,middle row 2nd from right ? Norris. Front row left is Kenny Bland. My dad thinks it is 1938/39 and the team did recieve gold medals.
My Grandad, Fred Halliwell, is 2nd from the left, on the top row. He was very proud to have played in such a winning team and remembers his rugby days with such fond memories.
