This photo (circa 1970) features the darts & dominoes team and the trophies won when representing the Platt Bridge Royal British Legion (that was located in Lily Lane). They are L-R; Bob Ratcliffe, Jack Ormshaw, Trevor Smith, Alf Roberts & Jimmy Duffy. Seated are Francis Cunningham and Alf Dalimore.

I remember Francis Cunningham, always had an easy smile on his face and he enjoyed a joke and the chat.

In fact, now the memory has been jogged I am sure he is a relation on my paternal grandmothers side.

No Dennis, Francis is not related to you. Different Cunningham.Your dad was my mothers cousin. Ask your aunt Esther does she remember Mary Tuohy.

It is not often I am right, but I am wrong again! :-)
Francis was a mate of my Uncle George, and they were very often ensconced at a bar together. I just made the assumption this was because they were related. I did know at the time we were related to some 'Cunninghams', I always thought he was one of them.

Also, part of the problem with this website is I see names with faces that I have not thought about for years, and it takes a while to put them in the proper place! :-D

I will ask Aunt Et about Mary Tuohy. :-)
