These are the players and Committee men of Wigan RL in the 1908 to 1909 season showing the four Cups won that season. The famous Leytham, Jenkins, Todd and Miller in the threequarters and half backs Thomas and Gleave.
Four out of five possible Cups were won and are displayed here, the Northern Union Championship, Lancashire Cup, Lancashire League Championship and the West Lancashire League. The whole party are photographed in front of the stand that shows the places reserved for the Press, Committee men and Patrons.
These will be the very same men that Club Chairman, John Counsell (seen on the front row) according to his diary, made sandwiches for during their trip to London.
