I can't comprehend that it was nearly 50 years ago. I can remember going to the game as though it was only a few years ago.
I also remember going to this game and I`m surprised nobody has mentioned the fact that a young lad fell either through or off the roof of the stand. It was also reported in the local and national newspapers that Mr Pastry(Richard Hearn) had run to help the injured youngster, when in fact he had run off the pith into the changing rooms.
Went to the game Ron. I think it was the biggest crowd i ever saw at Springfield park
I cant see Harry Fowlers name on the programme so maybe he was one of the changes
I also think I got Michael Medwins and somebody who was called Ziggy autograph as well.
Nice to see this programme - I haven't seen it before. My parents and I went to the match and I recall my mother trying to get Tom Finney's autograph as he returned down the tunnel - he politely refused, saying 'I'm sorry I can't'. As regards the unfortunate incident in the stand opposite the tunnel, Lonnie Donegan tried to quell the situation by walking onto the pitch - pushing a dustbin.
Great addition Ron - and keep up the good work!
My Dad took me to this game and we had a seat in the stands. This wa great for me because I use to stand behind the goal with my bike
Mr Pastry went on the field as atrainer a few times and he did something with the bucket that I still remember as very funny
