On the reverse of this photograph is written,
"16.4.1944.Fred and I again, that's me on the right not the left, how it got into the snap I don't know. See the old Africa Star Ribbon, dished them out with a penny worth of Toffey and an apple,(who's kidding). Look like a chinaman with the tummy ache

My dad on the right, was an airframe fitter in the RAF stationed at Heleopolis in Egypt. After the war ended He could have got a job with De havilland at Lostock like a lot of his mates did. But he went back to driving Busesfor Lancashire United transport based at Tram Street , Platt Bridge.were he did 47yrs service. Just think I could have been a Canadian. Makes you think doesn't it.
