I now believe the "Chuck" referred to was in fact Patterson Newberry, an American GI from Georgia

The other man in uniform was Harry Hall who used to be a doctor in Wallgate

Where does Lilian fit in with he family tree? I do believe I met a 'Hall' descendant of a doctor, at auntie Myrras funeral.
